Not burning in flames

One of my friends at school had a birthday last week I believe it was, and I asked him if he wanted me to draw him something, and he gave me this big descriptive thing of a drawing he wanted (I picked the hair colors, the clothes, and the clothes color because I was afraid to ask XD)

Their in a fire, yet they arn't being burned (or arn't showing any pain from the fire, one of the two) with accomplished looks (or I attempted at that anyway XD)

I'm sorry the fire looks a bit odd, I might rezie it a tad smaller, since the fire looks more like a fire when smaller.
And the rain... I'm sorry it probly looks like a bunch of weird lines, but I didn't really know how to make rain (well I didn't really know how to make a fire either XD)
